Position: Network Specialist

Location: 850 Tapscott Road, Suite 11, Scarborough Ontario (Finch and Markham area)

Position Summary:

This position has two primary responsibilities: For customers, deliver installation, configuration and support for networking and security products and services. For in-house staff, provide support for networking and computing applications and infrastructure. This position is ideal for candidates with experience or recent Network program graduates. For the right candidate, training is provided to extend their skill base and enhance their career.

Key Responsibilities:

Install firewalls, routers, e-mail systems , VPNs, Internet servers, IDS, etc.

Security incidence responses on behalf of customers

Perform penetration testing

Provide customer support by responding to customer queries and related activities

Determine configuration for integrating multiple devices and networks

Assess and review new technologies and products

Qualifications:

Strong ability and desire to learn and continue learning

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent time management skills and ability to self-manage.

Strong understanding of TCP/IP and routing

Strong understanding of the Internet and Internet servers

Knowledge of the various Microsoft operating systems and related products

Basic Unix knowledge at a minimum

Ideally has 1 to 3 years experience or a recent networking program graduate

Ideally has worked with various firewalls, routers, etc.

Ideally has a strong understanding of security and threats

Ideally has relevant certifications or is working towards them

Familiarity with other environments such as Novell, Lotus Notes, etc. is an asset

Automobile and a valid drivers license
